I say yes. I have before and I'm peachy keen. However, my mother says that gross and that I shouldn't do it. So I guess it really depends on how squeamish you are or how broke you are. Personally I don't see the big deal. If you cut the mold off and it's not stale you have removed the issue. If you are squeamish and a hypochondriac then don't do it. If you get sick, I'm sorry. Don't ask people questions concerning your health online :). But I'm about 99% sure you'll be fine.
