in Missouri, your supposed to have a license. however, its tollerated. no cop cares around here (stl county) bc little kids ride around my neighborhood all the time. i think maybe if they took them on major roads they might be quesioned and warned. Sometimes it depends on which state you're from. Most of the time if your moped is over 50cc, then you need a license, preferably a motorcycle license.
First of all what state do you live in? The law varies by state, but in a lot of states you can legally drive a moped with any license. Some states do not require a license, while others do. But I think it is fine to drive around on a moped with out a license as long as you follow the rules of the road. Cops usually do not pull over mopeds because they do not even have the ability to speed in most cases, as long as you do not do something stupid and draw attention.
