You can drive as long as the battery holds up, so don't use any accessories, lights, heater, radio and such. Try to get to a garage or home as soon as possible.
I'd suggest not to.
NO
air leak or bad alternator
alternator drive belt?
A bad belt, a bad regulator in the alternator or bad brushes in the alternator.
Well if you can drive around for 15 to 30 min and you battery is still dead then your alternator is bad or if you put a new battery in and it go's dead avry time you run the truck then your alternator is bad
Sounds like it could be a bad alternator, but I can't be sure based only on the question. Can also be a loose alternator drive belt.
The drive belt is not tensioned. The fuse in the line between the battery and alternator is blown. The battery has a bad cell. The voltage to the alternator field is missing from the regulator or ignition switch circuit.
The best way is to drive it to your nearest auto parts store and have it tested. You can test it somewhat yourself. Start the engine and use a volt meter to test the voltage that is being supplied by the alternator for the battery. If it is less than 13.5 volts the alternator is bad.
When the battery light illuminates on the dash and the alternator puts out less than 13 volts. If you question the condition of the alternator, drive to your local auto parts store and they can test the vehicles charging system for you for zip.
it happened on mine my guess is your alternator internal parts are dirty or the berring in the alternator is bad, these will still past alternator test try replacing it and see if the problem persist
bad alternator, bad voltage regulator, bad battery, bad connections.
A worn alternator belt, loose alternator belt or bad alternator belt tensioner.
