Horses are strict herbivores and do not eat meat. They do not have a digestion system capable of breaking down the type of proteins found in meat. Feeding meat to a horse is not a good idea as it can make them deathly ill.

∙ 13y agoHorses are strictly herbivores and do not eat meat. There's a theory that a person who is a vegetarian can train or work with horses more easily than those who eat meat, because some horses shy away from meat-eating people. It's thought they can sense when someone has eaten meat.
