You don't file Bk on any "thing"..you file Bankruptcy and it effects everything you own and everything you own. Some items cannot be discharged and some (very few) cannot be taken. essentially, everything you own is taken, liquadated and used to pay what you owe. YOU DO NOT PICK & CHOOSE.

Insurance:

(1) Disability: Unlimited amount

(3) Unmatured life insurance: Unlimited amount

(4) Life insurance policy loan value, dividends or interest: Up to $8,625

(5) Life insurance proceeds: Amount needed for support

The creditor must make a request to the court to except these types of obligations; otherwise they will be discharged.
