The tenth character of the VIN is the year character
There is a serial number stamped on the engine (e.g. E112E-****) that may help. Maybe you can contact Yamaha with that number for an age? Or you can just search yz125 on bikepics.com and just find the year that looks like yours.

You have to decide what you are looking for in a GPS. If you are looking for one to just get you from one place to another a basic model would be fine, but if you want one that updates you as to traffic backups and road construction you will have to pay more.

I have not found a way to find that information yet. You can call Sears at (800) 252-1698. They may not be happy to just answer that question but they will.
