I have Goodyear Wrangler SRA's measuring 255/70-17 on my 2010 Sport. They are equivalent to a 32" tire. No problems at all using the factory alloy wheels.
NONE 2003-2006 Rubicon Rims were only 16" diameter which means cheaper tires than 17" and taller sidewalls which is better for offroad. Newer and larger JK (2007+) Rubicon rims are a different bolt pattern and will require wheel adapters to fit.
The correct factory tire size for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler is 17 75/255.
