Yes, shepherd's pie with pastry crust top can be frozen and would keep safely for several months. However, if made with mashed potato topping, freezing is not recommended because mashed potatoes lose their texture when frozen. Either type of pie can be refrigerated (unfrozen) for up to three days.

∙ 13y agoTraditionally, it is made without a pie shell, and topped with mashed potatoes. Some people prefer it in a pie shell, however, and there is no reason why you can't use a frozen shell if you wish.
