Get a crow bar and you can easily lift it out. Then you can do whatever you want in the manhole. Also manhole covers scrap at a junk yard for about 10 bucks.
steel
Iron is the main ingredient, but it usually contains carbon too.
The rims and covers are usually forged steel, though the rims are sometimes welded up. It's strong enough to take the weight of vehicular traffic that rolls across it. The covers are round because round covers cannot fall into the hole. The manhole itself is usually a concrete vault that is precast and set in place. It is then backfilled, which is the process of packing earth (or sand) around the vault to "fill in" between the vault and the hole in which it was set.

Round manhole covers are generally used over square manholes because they cannot fall through the manhole openings. There is a chance that if square manhole covers are used they can be turned at an angle and fall through the manhole opening. Round manhole covers can be moved more easily as well.
Manhole covers are used for many things. Manhole covers are used to cover up holes in the ground where sewage can be found in order to protect people.
If they were rectangular they could fall down the manhole.
"Manhole covers" are simply spelled "manhole covers". The reason most of them are perfectly round is that a round cover cannot slip down into a hole that is even just slightly smaller than the cover (as can oblongs or squares).

There are various places in which you can find a manhole cover, manhole covers can be purchased on eBay for around £35-£40 or can be purchased through the Wickes website for around £18 for a steel one or £55 for a block paving one.
They are called man holes, or manhole covers.
The reason that manhole covers are round, and not square, is because a square cover could, when placed at the right angle, fall through the square hole in the ground. A circle, however, is the same diameter no matter where you measure it, and it cannot fir through a hole the same size and shape, no matter how hard anyone tried.
