You need to give more information. I assume it is a shotgun, but "Acier Special" just means it was made with "special steel" and we would need at least a model number to start looking for the manufacture date.
If you call Colt and give them the serial number, they will tell you.
You will have to call S&W and give them the serial number.
The year of manufactor for this gun is 1951. You can look up the serial number here http://armscollectors.com/sn/winlookup.php and it will give you that information
proofhouse.com will give you the mfg date
Please give a little more information
25 yrs give or take
The serial number you give is too low to be a Colt detective special. Colt detective specials were produced in 1927 starting with serial number 331000.They were cut-down versions of the Colt police positive specials. Now the Colt police positive special with that serial number was made in 1912.
You failed to give the manufacturer of the weapon when you gave the serial number. Follow the "related link" below for more information about serial number searches.
You will have to give more information than just the serial number to get an answer. Try describing the gun give the model number and who makes it. Just the serial number is of no use.
