It should fit. You see, a 231 6 cylinder is a shortened 350 V8. GM engineers simply cut 2 cylinders off the 350's block to make the block for some of their 6 cylinders (the 225, the 231 and the 234). The 231's were used in Buicks, mostly.
no way the Buick 231 has a completely different bell housing bolt pattern, but don't take my word for it, fust look at the top of the bell housing on the motor and trans, the Buick comes to a point in the middle and the Chevy is flat. although they are both gm products the buicks and chevys are not interchangable, sorry
Check on the driverside cylinder head. My engine code is on the head.
You don't, it's blasphemy...
If you are referring to the 4 cylinder engine, then the answer is yes. Both 89 and 90 use the 3S-FE 2.0 4 cylinder engine. If you have the 2VZ-FE 2.5 V6, then you cannot swap from one to the other.
You could if you had a donor car. The trans, computer, wiring, cooling system, etc... are all different.
you must remove the clutch slave cylinder and line. Then unbolt the starser and install the new one
Usually if it is trans-mounted the one closest to the passenger side If it is conventional the one closest to the front of vehicle
yes, the 700R4 transmission is the standard trans for the K1500 with a 5.7 350 engine. 305 is also with the 700R4 transmision.
It mounts on the passenger side rear of the engine. It is behind the passenger cylinder head, under the trans dipstick tube and goes into the bell housing. It mounts on the passenger side rear of the engine. You will need to swap the engine, trans, wiring, computer, ac lines, radiator, ...
Here are the actual Specs for a Chevy S-10 17MPG in the city and 24MPG highway if it has an automatic trans with a 2.2L 4 cylinder engine. 20MPG in the city and 26MPG highway if it's a 5 speed manual trans with 2.2L 4 cylinder engine. Now if it has the V6 4.3L engine it gets 15MPG in the city and 20MPG highway with automatic trans. With the manual 5 speed trans it gets 16MPG in the city and 21MPG highway.
yes,you will need the whole wiring harnes the computer.the trans.and its computer if it has one, motor mounts trans mounts axles. do you get the idea? is the vehicle worth this kind of intensive work? basically you need to remove the whole "k" frame and install the four cylinder one! computers sensors exaust fuel pump the whole shootin match so to speak.
no,the 4.3 engine has the same bolt pattern as a small block v8 engine
