depends on the engine size of the car. if u've got one of those small Japanese with a 1 litre engine, not much chance. if you've got a moderately big diesel car. even a 1.9l, it should start up a van. just connect the jump leads and leave the car running for a few minutes ( like 10 minutes). this allows the van's battery to pick a little charge and assist with the starting process. and always rev up your car when the van is kicking to assist with the alternator.
