You can only do that in India, but not in the United States. This is because when you are in the U.S., yes you can believe your own religion, but you CANNOT break any U.S. laws with your religion. An example, someones religion could be to "sacrifice" someone, but in the U.S. you cannot commit murder so it's kinda like that.
