My X is planning on moving from California to Hawaii with our son. He has primary custody. Our son has not finished Highschool yet. He is collecting child support here in California from me, and is on unemployment too. I believe he will move to Hawaii and try to collect welfare too. Can he move to Hawaii and collect welfare and get his child support amounts raised to Hawaii's current level? Thank You!
No. You can only collect from the state that your employer paid his unemployment taxes to, the "liable" state.
if you are eligible for it in the state where you worked, that is the state responsible for paying any benefits, not the one you move to,
Or even India.
First, some states allow you to collect unemployment if you have to move because your spouse relocates, in which case it would be from the state you moved FROM (the "liable state"). Secondly, you could not collect from the state you move to because that state did not collect unemployment taxes from your former employer (hence, not the "liable state")
A minor can move to a different state to live with an aunt as long as they have permission from their parents.
First -- I am NOT a lawyer. As general rule, if you quit a job, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits. If you lose your job through no fault of your own, your eligibility will be determined by the rules of the state you move to. A period of residency may be required.can you collect unemployment if you quit your job to move out of state?what are the terms and conditions of collecting unemployment if you quit your job to move out of state?
You are considered a minor until you are 18. Until that point your parents are responsible for your welfare and where you live.
no
No. You QUIT the job. To get unemployment you have to be fired.
Yes, as long as you qualify and notify Missouri's office of employment security and comply with their regulations pertaining to the move,
Research the laws of the state you are going to.
No. If your parents give permission, yes. But they are responsible for you and your welfare until you are 18. And you have to live where they want you to live.
