However, the contents of a web site, those portions that would be considered to have "sufficient originality" would be afforded copyright protection.
The actual coding, in all likelihood, wouldn't qualify.

∙ 11y agoYou can't patent a website. You can only copyright it. However, you can certainly patent any inventions that you happen to have implemented in your website.
For example, a company has patented the "one click" purchase process for a web page on which they sell things.

I would advise my client that your webpage is already protected by copyright law. A person should do a quick search of design patents to see if other patents have been granted on web pages.
