This is a very involved question, but anyone that is considered an adult of sound mind, and is able to enter into a contract can purchase real estate. If you only have a work permit, then I suggest you look for someone that will sell you the property as a lease-option, and take the time to get your paperwork in order. Once have been paying for a littl while, ask the seller if you can buy the house from him/her with land contract. If the seller doesn't know what that is, call an escrow company, and have them explain it to you/them. Good luck! My personal experience on a TN-1 work visa is yes it is possible to purchase a house (brand new if you want) and can be done with bank financing if cash is not available. Hope this helps "G"
