No modern car uses 10w40 oil. Use what the owner's manual recommends. There are special blends for High Mileage vehicles, but stick with the correct weight.
SAE 10W30 unless it is high mileage which in that case use SAE 10W40.
The book says 5W30 but if you have high mileage I think a 10w40 should do the trick.
I would use 10w30 and for high mileage 10w40 would work best
Hyundai recommends SAE 10w40. On a car this old I recommend you use a High Mileage oil.
Any name brand oil will do, but synthetic oils are better. Generally summer it is 10w30 and winter 5w30 for new cars and 10w40/10w30 for high mileage cars. However engine oil rated for diesel engines are best and you can get a synthetic diesel oil recommended by BMW from Bavarian Autosport, Lubro Molly, 5w40/10w40.
I would recommend you use SAE 10w40 any major brand high mileage oil.
10w30 any major brand of detergent oil unless the engine is high mileage and worn, then use 10w40.
Mobil 1 10w40 very high performance is the best oil to use unless you have very high mileage in which case use 15w40.
You can, but I would not recommended. Due to it's not a new truck and high mileage. You can put 10W30 or 10W40 instead. I think the 5W30 may hurt your engine.
Use SAE 5w20 High Mileage Oil any major brand.
