It would not be a bolt in and go swap. They have entirely different fuel injection systems.
wat other motor can i put in my 2001 chevy blazer
If you attempt to put a vortec engine into a vehicle with a NON-vortec computer, you'll have more problems than you care to deal with.
235/75R15
the answer is yes the block sizes and transmission but your going to have to make only two new holes for the transmission mount.
Probably about 240 or close. Move to a 96 and it's a lot more. The Vortec started in 96 with the 350 (5.7) and 454 (7.4). I understand the Vortec 5.7 had a little more power than the non-Vortec 7.4, and the Vortec 5.7 has 250 horsepower.
Big job you have to remove the tank I think.
Left side (drivers side) of transmission.
It may bolt in but it will not shift. The 1995 is hydraulic, while the 2001 is electronically controlled.
You can put the Vortec in it if you have the wiring and ecm to run it. or you could use the Vortec heads and an aftermarket intake and really wake up your engine. The vortecs use a roller cam.
Just unhook the hoses from the heater core and put a tube are something in the middle of them and clamp them together.
YOU WILL DIE! have you check your IAC ??
If it is a vortec engine, it is probably the lower intake manifold gasket. In most cases you can smell it when the engine is hot.
