For A guinea Pig, it is recommended you provide the largest cage possible...at a minimum, a cage should be large enough for your guinea to stand up on his/her hind legs and not touch the top, room for litter box, nesting box, food, toys, water bottle and a little extra to walk around - this is the minimum, and you should provide your piggy with out of cage play time and snuggle time! During the summer, during the day we put the piggys out in our shaded sunroom (windows open for cool air) in an empty 8 foot swimming pool, this provides a large play area, I add the water bottle, food, hay, toys and a nesting box for naps...they love this, and I sit in there with them to bond.
NOOOOO!!!! that is torture they need at least at a minimun 7.5 feet of space to run around in. Get a C&C cage.
^^^Absolutely right! HAMSTER CAGES ARE FAR TOO SMALL The best thing for your guinea pig/s is a c&c cage suitable for 1 rabbit if you have 2 indoor guinea pigs, or a single floor medium rabbit hutch if you are going to keep 2 outside. These sizes are suitable if they are going to spend a lot of time in there cage because of the space they have. In my opinion i think that the cc cages for guinea pigs and rabbits are far too small if they are going to spend a lot of time in there, but if you are going to let them run around for about 10-12 hrs a day then a smaller version should be fine. JUST DON'T KEEP THEM IN A HAMSTER/GERBIL/MOUSE CAGE
I wouldn't advise it at all. The rat is a rather aggressive creature and would probably end up chewing on the hamster. It has the teeth to be dangerous.
yes but watch them carefully and if you plan on feeding them put them in separate cages
A minnie pig?
Yes, a cage is a cage. As long as there's no mouse in the cage already.
well not really but it depends how the cage looks like then it might work but most of the time it cant be used for hamsters but if you got a fish tank the nthat will work
Sure it can. Make sure there are no places where the pet can get out and it will work just fine.
I don't have birds, but I would guess you could as long as they can't get out of it.
Yes, there are special screen lids and clips made just for this purpose. You can get them at most pet stores.
no
in its cage i say. i have a hamster and i have to go to school, i feed him in the morning and i leave him in his cage, when i come back i put him into his exercise ball , and then i feed him again.
I definatly wouldn't advise using a wire hamster wheel as a hamster can get its legs in between the wheel when running.
Hi, I wouldn't recommend it. Hamsters do not like warm habitats. It is especially bad if the cage is put near a window that gets warm, a furnace, or where there's a warm draft. Plus, the cage needs to be well lit. Hope that helps a little!
you get a peice of food and put it on the ground your hamster will sniff it and go right to you11works like a charm!! If your hamster is in a room and the door was closed when it got loose, just stay perfectly still. Try to listen for scratching sounds. If not, scratch any dresser or deks type thing and listen. If you hear it, look EVERYWHERE you hear it. In droors, behind droors. Basically behind, in, or under anything you can think of that's nearby By hamsterluver224: Yes, I also think the old bucket trick works too. You put up a plank or something and a bucket baited with yummy food. Your hamster will walk up the ramp and fall into the bucket. Start looking in common hamster hiding places, like under droors, under beds, in bookcases, etc. My hamsters usually hide there. If you cannot find it there, look in unusual places like in blankets, in shoes, and in wrapping paper tubes. Or, you can leave its cage door poen with a trail of sunflower seeds leading to the cage and it will fall asleep in its cage by the next morning. Or, if you have more than one hammy, put a new nesting box in the cage and put the old one outside its cage with bedding. Or, you can buy harmless trap hotels for mice and bait it with treats. Good Luck! oh whats above `might work but make shure you put your hamster cage on the ground AND PUT WATER IN IT!
This is a normal thing that rodents do because their teeth do not stop growing. Put some wooden toys inside the cage for them to chew on instead. This helps to wear the teeth down.
yes although it would be wise to clean and disinfect it first, you don't know why your old crab might have died.
no, hermit crabs live at the beach so it is not part of their natural environment. I suggest putting sand or coconut fiber in the bottom of the cage.
get a large cup and put the shell or the toy inside. Then get a pan and boil the water inside it. put the water in the cup and wait 2 minutes then take the shells out of the cup and put them in the hermit crab cage.
no we had over ten hermit crabs in one cage and they were all fine.:) since they are both different sizes you should keep an eye on them but you shouldn't worry because hermit crabs are very social animals.
hermit crabs are very pickey about there new domane or house put more than one shell in the cage.:)
Nothing exept have babbies faster
it depends how big the hermit crab is or the fish bowl
if your hermit crab pinches you put it under cold water
It depends on the hermit crab but I would personally say just to be careful No the big one might hurt or bully the smaller crab.
Sand or rocks are best. But, many crabs like coconut fiber. you can find it at most pet stores.
Hermit Crabs like Humidity. They need 70-80% humidity to survive. But, if it like 100 degrees and no humidity i recommend to put a fan or air conditioner on then, or in their cage.
The depth of substrate in a hermit crab habitat should be deep enough that it covers your largest crab at least by 3x. It should be made using about 5 parts playsand and 1 part coconut fiber, moistened to a sand-castle making consistency.
