Most snails are opportunistic feeders and will eat whatever they can find. They also take up room and use up precious oxygen and produce Ammonia and poo in their environments just as fish do. So snails need to be taken into consideration when working out the stocking levels of your tank. 1 snail is the equivalent of 1 inch of fish. The basic rule when stocking a tank is :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water.

Bettas should be kept in a minimum of 3 gallons of water not a tiny bowl. (Bowls are not large enough to keep anything in humanely). Adding a snail to a bowl containing a fish is simply making matters worse by reducing the amount of oxygen available to the fish and increasing the ammount of poo (polution) being done in the water.

Yes, snails will indeed eat betta fish food and it will not harm them. Betta food can be purchased at local pet stores.

Can you put a female and male Betta fish in the same tank or bowl or will they fight to death?

It's best to only put male and female betta fish in the same tank/bowl if you are breeding them. If they are not breeding and they still stay in the same area, the male would most likely attack the female, so keep the female away! Also, if you are breeding betta fish, make sure to remove the female betta after she lays her eggs, as the male will care for them and chase the female away.

Can you put an apple snail in a betta fish tank?

Don't even think about it. They hate each other and will attack and kill the other one. Only do it if you have a divider.

Can snails go in the same tank as betta fighting fish?

Females are non-agressive and will most often leave the snail alone. If you have a male, he most likely will. It also depends on the size of the snail, the larger the snail the less likely it will be harmed, but a larger snail in turn can injury a betta if it snaps shut on the bettas head. For the most part snails and bettas don't mix well.

Can you tame a betta fish?

all you have to do to tame your beta fish so that it does not attack other fish in the same tank is put mirrors on the outside of what ever bowl it's in. then it can get used to itself and learn to not be threatened by other fish. wait about a week with the mirrors on the sides of its bowl and then you can put another fish in it's bowl. i have done it and it works trust me it's amazing.
