Can you put an eaton generation 5 supercharger in your 98 gtp?
Yes you can, but you will need some things Here is a list GTP Supercharger w/ bolts and pulley GTP Throttle body GTP Fuel Injectors GTP Lower Intake Manifold GTP Cylinder Heads w/ valve covers Passenger motor mount GTP Harmonic Ballencer GTP supercharger belt tensioner and idler pulleys GTP MAP sensor GTP Vacuum lines Head Gasket set Head Bolt Set Lower Intake Manifold Gasket GTP Valve Cover Gaskets Supercharger gasket and coolent O Rings Throttle… Read More
put a socket on the tensioner pulley and pull on it until there is slack then just slip it off.
On the output shaft on your supercharger there will be a Hex head screw at the bass of the output shaft and the S/C body. WARNING*** extremely tight. Take caution when removing to avoid striping and carefully not to over tighten when put back.
As far as bolt patterns go, I believe the Eaton M90 roots-style supercharger will fit. However, in order to operate properly, I believe a lot of electrical retrofitting would be necessary. The largest concern, however, is that the 4T65E transmission in the GT would not be able to safely handle the power and torque that GTP produces. The GTP is equipped with the 4T65E-HD "heavy duty" transmission, which is capable of handling more power, i.e… Read More
What does it mean when the car makes a whining sound upon acceleration on a 2005 Grand Prix GTP Supercharger?
This whinning noise is completely normal. This sound is produced by the supercharger when it is producing boost. I have a 2003 gtp and it does the same as well as any other supercharged engine. Suggestion from 00gtp Put a K&N cold air intake on and everyone will hear the whine. Sounds cool and it really makes people look.
GM dealers sell the oil. Get a new plug also in case you ruin the old one getting it out. You can also get an oil change kit on eBay for about 45.00.
As a fellow owner of both car and mechanic the GTP WILL get the aurora on the top end but the olds v-8 gets the gtp out of the hole, I've raced them both. both vehicles can be modded but you'll find the GTP has more potential with its EATON GEN 3 SC. The GTP does put out more torque by 20ft.lbs but 10 less HP 240 compared to 250. Anyway hope this helps!
I have a 1998 grand prix gtp with a blown motor will the supercharger fit on a 2001 grand prix gt 3.8 liter engine?
where do you live, would you be willing to sell your gtp? i have a 97 that is wrecked and ive been looking for one to put the engine in. please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. please no other emails
You can put a supercharger?turbo charger on anything. It all depends on how deep your pockets are.
Yes, you can put a supercharger and twin turbos on a 2008 ZO6 Corvette..
You can put a supercharger on a stock engine it depends on how much boost you run wether your engine can handle it or not.
Yes, on 1997 and 1998 only. TRD supercharger.
You can put a supercharger on any engine. All a supercharger is, is an air compressor that forces air into the engine. If you can find a compressor small enough and figure out a why to hook it up, then you will be good to go.
yes you can put a supercharger on vw golf 1.6 fsi but you just gone have to make some modification on air intake and maby you gone have to put the throttle body before supercharger
it won't work. they have different intakes.
You can but its very tricky unless you are a mechanic!
a supercharger is run by belt, turbocharger is run by ex. gases.supercharger is better ........actually it depends on the motor and what kind of turbo/supercharger you put on it,so neither is technically better than the other
in 1990 the eaton supercharger only contains oil (self contained) air charge is cooled via air to air intercooler. looks like a small radiator, that is what all that cast alum.tubing goes to and from.(3.8L sc)
You like to know where to put supercharge oil with your regular oil or is there a oil res right on your supercharger?
The question is about my Buick Regal GS 2000 Supercharger oil Information
they can be installed on any veichals
no...... you tear the engine up
Yes, you can put a turbo and a supercharger on the chargers. wear would i go to find out how
Yes I have one in my 96 camaro and it is awesome!
It takes 2 bottles of the GM supercharger oil (or Ford supercharger oil, they are the same product). Do not try to substitute anything else for it either. It is a specialized oil built for the iron bearings that are used in these superchargers.
Yes, depending on make, model year, some are easier than others. For example GM makes a supercharger kit for the 2.2/2.5L ecotec engine.
a turbocharger. unless you are comparing a turbo kit to DIY supercharging. See what is available for your car. Turbo kits are more elaborate, but if you cant find a supercharger kit, you will have an easier time buying and installing the turbo kit that making a supercharger setup yourself.
Yes but it will be more expensive, than a newer virsion
Yes. The best way to do it is to feed the air coming off the turbo into the intake of the supercharger. Then off the supercharger into the intake. You can have one or more intecoolers. This setup is called Twincharged
you can but you run the risk of screwin up everything in the car including internal components that aren't meant for the supercharger of an ls2 engine
no is not possible i do not think that an automatic transmission can handle all the added power plus you need to modify the ecu in order for the supercharger to work correctly.
fit a twin turbo engine
For all GTPs 1997-2003, the first step is to remove the cosmetic supercharger cover. At the rear of the motor, on the driver's side of the vehicle, there is a small plate etched with "PCV." Use a small socket and ratcher to unscrew the two bolts, and the PCV valve will be exposed. The PCV valve may stick, so you may need needlenose pliers. Remove the valve, and do not lose the corresponding spring. Simply… Read More
The Buick Riviera with supercharger should put out 240hp
yeah if you want to pick your motor up in pieces.
Adding a turbo to a v8 that already has a supercharger, isn't worth it/cost effective. If you are removing the supercharger and converting it to turbocharged then yes. The engine is built for the load/power and is the best candidate for turbocharging.
Simply put, a turbocharger uses the exhaust to spin a turbine thus compressing air which is then forced into the intake. A supercharger is driven off the engine crankshaft and forces air into the intake. They both do the same thing but the turbocharger uses the exhaust gases to compress air and the supercharger uses the engine's motion.
drop the gas tank. they did not put in access hole until 2000
yes. Jackson racing is one of the best. there is also nuespeed and a few others.
first off the 34 dohc motor is by far the worst gm motor they ever made i had one and it blew up the second day i had it if u put a super charger on that motor it wont be worth it plus i guarentee they dont make one just go get yourself a 97-03 gtp with the 3800 its the best motor out there
Each generation differs from the one before it.It has been a generation since we had a bad storm here. Your generation just doesn't understand mine.
This is pretty simple. Basically you need to take off the belt and drain the oil out of the supercharger. From there you have to loosen the 6 bolts that hook up the front of the supercharger to the back. (If you do not drain the oil, the oil will actually leak out once you take these bolts off, which can be messy, so that is why you want to drain the oil first.) Then… Read More
Sure, but the complexity and cost would be a waste, of time and money.
As long as it passes emissions... in the USA, no. Most manufacturers have 50 state legal kits.
Does the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP require premium gas or is it safe to put regular grade 87 Octane in?
Most of today's vehicles are of such low compression ratio that there is truly no need for premium fuel. Premium only helps when the engine is "high compression". The simple fact is, your engine will work better and give you fewer injector related problems if you buy "fresh" fuel that has not been sitting at the filling station for a long time. Older fuel tends to be more likely to result in deposits on the… Read More
NO! They didn't supercharge them until 97' GTP. The top engine offering that year was the 3.4 DOHC engine. It produced 200 hp with an automatic and 210 hp when paired with the 5-Speed manual. Actually your somewhat right... yes no such thing as a 94 gtp..gtp started in 97 but in 1994 its has a 3.1 SOHC v6 producing 160hp @ 5200RPM and 185lb torque @ 4000RPM on both coupe and sedan. Also in… Read More
Please explain a little bit more. You can physically set a 2nd generation on top of a 3rd generation, if that is what you are asking.
UMM no i had a buddy to try but it will not fit in his it was a 2003 r/t and we took it to a specialist and he said the car will not allow it
If you get the PCM, engine wiring harness, and intake manifold from the Regal also..
Can you put a crate engine in a 94 Chevy cavalier I am looking to make a sleeper... it has a bad transmission and figured i would just do both at the same time...?
i dont think it will fit im not positive but i would just put a turbo kit in or a supercharger kit in and fix the trans and put new heads in that can handle a nitro shot and put some nitrous in it i dont think it will fit im not positive but i would just put a turbo kit in or a supercharger kit in and fix the trans and put new heads… Read More
Hell yeah you can, check out Ebay, they have kits that people pulled of of Z28's, also, I am looking to supercharge my 94 Z28. Ebay has multiple kits that people have put up. IF you want, go to google and type in "supercharger for 1994 Z28" and I am sure something will pop up. hope this helps.
