There's 2 things your question could mean.
1. Can I put a brand new transmission that is identical to the one I already have in my car?
2. Can I put a transmission from a newer vehicle(that is different from your vehicle's) in my car?
Answer 1. If the transmission you want to put in is the same transmission you are taking out, then yes you should have no problem changing them out.
Answer 2. If the transmission was not made for your car, then you would have to check to see if the bolts mounting the engine and transmission would line up. For example, I took the tranny out of my 88 Ford Bronco and put it in my 92 Ford Ranger. They both had six bolts in the same pattern so they were interchangeable. If the bolts do not line up, the transmission would not fit and would be a waste of your time. But if you can't find how many bolts there are, it would probably be best to take your car to a shop.
where do you put transmission oil in a standard car?
No it is not. The price for the new transmission will cost you more than the car is worth. It will be better to purchase a newer van than to put money into a new transmission for the old one.
New cars can adjust and get better gas mileage, older car 2002/older, you are just wasting money.
Yes, you can put a manual transmission in a 1993 Lincoln Town Car. The purpose of the engine is to provide motion to the transmission.
If the whole car feels like its bucking it could be the transmission is slipping. Either its going bad or you need to get new transmission fluid. Sometimes older cars, especially automatics, do that if you put in a lower gear other than drive.
The 3 main things in a car is the engine, the transmission, and the differential. if neither of these things are working properly then your car has to have a complete rebuild of them or a new engine, transmission, or differential put in.
" My transmission to my car broke, and I missed the party." " I need to get my transmission fixed on my car." " My favourite word is transmission." " My dad's favorite word is transmission." " When will you get that transmission on your car fixed?" " How do you put transmission in a sentence?" Dude, I think you got it..
So long as the engine bolts up to it and there is enough room there is no reason that a transmission upgrade won't work. There isn't much you can't do to a car if you are willing to throw enough money and time at it. If you mean to ask if it is a good idea to replace a worn out transmission with a new one of the same type, the value and condition of the vehicle is going to make your decision for you. I wouldn't put a new transmission on an old car with 100K+ miles on it. I would consider getting a rebuilt or a salvage transmission with a warranty. I installed a later model used 700R4 automatic transmission into a 1971 Chevy pickup truck with great results. As already stated above, the bolt pattern needs to match between the engine and transmission and the rest you can fabricate. The fuel mileage went from 15 mpg to 19 mpg highway.
It all depends what kind of part an engine no a transmission no put new axel yes
You put the Transmission Fluid in the Transmission (fill point transmission drip stick tube)
Low transmission fluid will cause the vehicle not to move. Try filling the fluid and see if it works. good luck
You can take transmission out of a 2005 Buick and put it in your 1995 Buick regal.
