If you want the front WHEEL BEARINGS to come apart and the wheel hub to come apart you can.
The end of the axel shaft slides through the bearing hub assembley and when you put the nut on the axel and torque it to 150 ft LBS, That is what holds the front bearing hub together.
No.
You can't unless you remove the front pump assembly and drive it out from behind but, I still wouldn't reuse the seal, just replace it with a new seal.
If four wheel drive, yes. If all wheel drive, no. The 4wd system will have 2hi, 4hi, and 4 lo on the shifter.
if you remove rear drive shaft, you can still drive on front wheels. just be aware that the vehicle will handle differently on take off and cornering as all power is going straight to front wheels
Yes you can remove it and still drive the truck......
You can remove the front DRIVESHAFT only. Don't know way you would want too. The drive shaft won't turn until you ingauge the 4-wheel drive.YOU CAN NOT REMOVE THE FRONT AXELS FROM BEHIND THE FRONT WHEELS BECAUSE THE AXEL SHAFTS THAT GO THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE ROTERS IS WHAT KEEPS THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS TOGETHER.
The Sportage is a front engine, front wheel drive car, with a four wheel drive option (but that still uses the front wheel drive transaxle, and runs the transfer case off of that).
NO YOU CAN NOT. THE AXEL SHAFT IS WHAT HOLDS THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS TOGETHER,WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE BIG NUT IN THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL. ARE ON THE END OF THE AXELSHAFT.
Only if you want to wreck the transmission. Even if you remove the driveshaft, flat towing is still generally not recommended for front wheel drive cars.
I replaced the front brakes on my 92 camaro, it still pulls hard right when u hit the brakes??
1: disconnect the drive shaft from the rear axle. 2: disconnect the front shaft from the transmission (tedious and you need the correct size tool). 3: disassemble the front shaft from the main shaft by pulling them apart from the center or in front of the support and drop the main shaft. 5: remove bolts holding the support and drop and remove the front shaft shaft with the support still connected. 6: remove and replace the support with a wheel puller. 7: replace support with new part. 8: reassemble in reverse. Stereotypically police officers drive Ford Crown Victoria's, but depending on the state and city you live, the cops may drive new Dodge Charger's and Chevrolet Impala's. The L.A. PD still drives a few 80's Chevrolet Caprice's. Departments in rural areas have using 70's Chevrolet Blazer's and Ford Bronco's for years, but now they use new Ford Expedition's and Chevrolet Trailblazer's.
