The only people that can give you a legitimate answer to this is someone qualified in UK law. At a guess - I'd say you'd be fine. British people can rent vehicles with endorsements on their licences - it really depends on the individual circumstances.
I'd suggest contacting a few UK car rental companies (internet to the rescue !) and ask them directly.
