There is a company in Montana that appears to specialize in this. I read an article about them and it led me to their website. They do not answer the phone very often as it appears they are receive a LOT of curious callers such as myself. http://www.fordcummins.com/ Based on the conversation I DID have with them, my 2000 Ford Excursion V10 could be converted to a much more powerful Cummins for about $15k. Depends on how extensive a conversion you want to do. If you want to a complete conversion and replace just about everything, the cost will be in the thousands. For considerably less, you can replace the refrigerant oil, replace the hose fittings, and replace the metering device. Another alternative is to switch to R414b, which is claimed to be able to replace (read: replace, not be blended with) R12 without a need for changing oil or components.
