Also whether or not the seller was aware of any material defect and then lied about it. If a dealer, start with sending them a letter. If they don't respond, another letter with a copy to the Attorney General in your state and a copy to the Better Business Bureau. You can try that with a private party, but may end up having to seek a remedy in court as the AG and BBB typically won't get involved in private party disputes. Finally, if all else fails, you can consult an attorney but that might involve throwing good money after bad. Try letters first.
