It can be done and it has been done plenty in the past. However, with the advent of pex, no prudent journeyman would embed copper in concrete. The risks of copper failing are greater than those of PEX. Potential copper problems are calcification inside the pipe and corrosion due to ingredients such as lime, etc. in the concrete.
When installed properly and correctly, a copper line from heating system can be used to heat concrete slab.
The copper pipe is reacting with metallic elements in the ground which in turn creates oxidation in the copper, which causes corrosion, which leads to holes in the copper pipe.
You have several choices but none of them are perfect. One choice is to have a hole bored horizontally underneath the slab and then a vertical hole through the floor to join it. A second choice is to have a concrete cutter saw a channel in your slab, lay the pipe, and then fill in concrete over it. Another choice is to have the pipes come in through the wall above ground level rather than go through the slab. The last choice is to go up. The pipes go up the outside wall and through the ceiling, dropping down from the attic into a wall. This can be a noisy option unless the pipes are properly secured and insulated. Don't go cheap. Go with copper piping big enough that you won't regret it later. No half inch pipes! Stay with 3/4 or larger inside with one inch or larger mains.
no
Supended slab are slab not sit on the ground directlySuspended slab is a slab supported by beams.
Slab-O-Concrete was created in 1994.
No. Concrete won't bond to concrete. It will end up cracking.
Flat slab homes are also known as concert slba homes these have no crawl space underneath. Some disadvantages are if down hill they can end up with rain inside and when pipes need to be replaced that are under the slab the flooring and concrete in that area must be removed.
Also reffered to as 'slab footing' and it consists of concrete footing beams integrated into the concrete floor slab.
no matter how big the concrete slab is, it will never float
