Yes, as long as you connect the incoming and outgoing heater hoses that were connected to the heater core together. You will not have a functioning heater or defroster but otherwise it will be fine to drive.
you would have to bypass the heater core first.
To change the heater core on a 1999 Chevy 4-wheel drive, first remove the dashboard and drain the coolant. Unbolt the core from its mounts and remove the dash panel to be able to change the heater core.
Could have a clogged line feeding the heater core. Disconnect return hoses from the heater core and verify coolant is flowing through the core.
No there is not. Whats the problem no heat ?? If so try this, reverse the heater hoses on the heater core and then go drive the truck and see if you get heat.
Yes. The coolant carries the engine heat to the heater core. Without coolant the heater core does not get warm.
YES
Remove the glove box and you'll have access to the heater core, still not easy.
This really is a pain The heater core is in a tray like thing under the dash in the centre of the dash It is a real pain to get this out without breaking it and then without damaging the heater core. You really really need a manual with pictures to do this correctly
did the heater core start leaking? anyway you should have no problem with the air if you bypass the heater core.
no
Yes, but you will have no heat. Your heater core is leaking and needs replacing.
The heater core is probley stoped up. You can try this and it might work. Just switch the hose's on the heater core and then go drive it and see if you get heat. Just be sure engine is COLD before you switch the hose's. If that don't fix your heat, Then PLEASE ask your question again. When you get back from driving it let it cool back off and then put the hose's back where they were and drive it again.
