If you put duals on your 4.3L caprice will it roar?

If it is a 94-96 caprice with the L99 you will get a good sound as it is identical to the 350 LT1's. If its a 'box' caprice style 4.3 you may want to go straight pipes.

What kind of motor is in the 1996 caprice classic 4.3 liter?

The Chevrolet 4.3 liter engine (SPID code L99) is a smaller displacement variant of the fabled LT1. Like the LT1, it is a Generation II engine, which means it has the reverse-flow cooling system and the OptiSpark distributor which runs directly off the crankshaft. The heads and block are cast iron and are of the Vortec design, and the intake manifold and fuel injection system are essentially identical to the LT1. . See the L99 section at http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LT_engine for more information. . From a performance and reliability perspective, the engine is solid. Two points of criticism are (1) the OptiSpark distributor is prone to issues due to its location behind the water pump, and (2) the heater core tends to clot up because of a factory-installed additive in the cooling system. . Due to its smaller displacement, the L99 has a "cammy" feel to it, in that it feels somewhat weak off the line, but as the RPMs rise toward redline, the engine livens up considerably. The LT1, in contrast, feels responsive throughout the power curve due to its additional torque. (Remember, you may buy horsepower, but you drive torque.) . Compared to the LT1, the L99 gas mileage is not nearly as impressive as might be assumed. I've achieved 27+ highway MPG out of my civilian Caprice that has the L99, but I get 25 highway MPG out my 9C1 (police-package) Caprice that has the LT1. Both get around 18 to 19 MPG around town. Considering the "kick" that the LT1 has, I prefer larger displacement. . Hope this helps. . --swebb--

What size engine is in a 92 caprice?

The 1992 Chevrolet Caprice came with three different engines that year. The 4.3 L L99 V8, the 5.0 L L03 V8, and the 5.7 L L05 V8. The 1994 Caprice also came with the 5.7 L V8 called the LT1 which was a Corvette engine. This was the choice of many police departments. This engine was not available in the 1992 model.

What is the top speed of a 1995 Chevy caprice classic cop car?

It's depends on tire rating, H rated goes up to 130, and V rated is at about 140. But only if LT1, don't know about L99

The engine turns over but will not fire on a 1994 Chevy caprice LS with the L99 engine what is the problem?

most likely a fuel delivery problem. i use carb cleaner to spray a little down the throttle body (where the carb used to ve) and see if it starts. if so then you probably need a fuel pump.

How much horsepower does the Camaro 2ss have?

How do you remove the distributor cap and rotor on a 1995 Chevy Caprice?

The cap and rotor on the L99 and LT1 are located on the end of the camshaft.....you must remove the water pump and the harmonic balancer, this would be a good time to replace plug wires.....MSD and ACCEL make kits for this, you will need some small wrenches......I have replaced complete systems three times........wires should be replaced from under the car.....safety is a must!!!

Why does a 95 Impala say caprice on the title?

Because you own a clone. Caprice and Impala are effectively the same car, but with different options. There are many, many more Caprices in the world than Impalas, and with exterior differences just trim pieces, a lot of people will try to turn their workaday Caprices into zoomy Impalas by changing out the rims and trim. Inside the car, it's a matter of leather seats, a floor shifter, and some other appointments that are also fairly easy to change out. The biggest difference is that all Impalas, but only a very few Caprices, had the 5.7 liter V8 with dual exhausts. Most Caprices had the L99 4.3 liter V8 (which is exactly the same, but with smaller cylinder bores and maybe different pistons) and a single exhaust.
