I've looked at wiring diagrams for the power door locks on Cherokees. My Haynes manual shows two different diagrams: one for "1989 and earlier models with keyless entry" and one for "1990 and through 1996 models with keyless entry." I believe that '90 through mid-'92 used non-reprogrammable infrared transmitters/receivers while mid-'92 through '96 used reprogrammble infrared transmitters/receivers. So those two systems will have different parts/components, but, since all '90-'96 models share the same diagram, I think that the keyless entry receivers would be interchangeable. ('97 and later models used dealer reprogrammble radio transmitters). UPDATE: I have successfully upgraded the keyless entry module on my Cherokee. Mine is a 1990 Laredo but I'm pretty sure that the factory module was from the 1989 and previous models. Regardless, I installed a new overhead console from a 93-95 Grand Cherokee that included keyless entry. I chose this one from the junkyard because the 93-95's had the reprogrammable receivers. Anyway, all I did was run all the wires down the passenger side A-pillar, cut off the old receiver wires, and splice the new ones in. The 4 wires to the old receiver were pink (constant 12v power), black (ground), tan (went to unlock relay), and green (went to lock relay). Of course, the newer Grand Cherokee module had extra wires for bells and whistles that my older Jeep is not equipped with, so they just got taped off. Now, since my new receiver can be programmed to work with any Infrared transmitter, I had to figure that much out. The step-by-step process can be found by a simple Google search, but I can tell you that the driver's door must be left open during the process. I had not spliced anything but those 4 wires, so my receiver would not have been able to detect if any door was ajar. So, I searched and discovered that an extra yellow wire I had was supposed to go to the door jamb switches. It is a 12v feed, so the module knows a door is open if this wire is grounded. So, I just connected it to a good ground during the programming process and..... BINGO! everything works now.

How do you program a keyless remote for a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer?

A dealership has to do it for you if it is the original from the dealer. If it is aftermarket, like one from car toys they will have to do it for you. Only the company that installed it will have the codes to program it. I have a 2003 xtreme myself, and i have a dealer keyless entry, but I had car toy's install an alarm with other remote functions, only they can program the newer one.

How do program keyless entry for 2006 Malibu Lt?

I can't remember the site I went to but google "programming keyless remote Chevrolet". After extensive research on this topic, I have come to the conclusion that the newer Malibu remotes have to programmed by the dealerships Tech2 scan tool. The new Chevy trucks can be programmed without the scan tool but the sedans have to be programmed at the dealer.

Where is the turn signal module on a Harley Sportster?

On newer Sportsters the module is located under the battery. You have to remove the battery then pull up on the rectangular cover of the module on the bottom of the battery tray.

Where else might one find the factory pre set code for the keyless pad entry on a 1999 Ford Limited other then the wallet card in the glove box or on the computer module it's on neither?

AnswerThe only other way is to scan the module with a factory scan tool. An aftermarket scan tool will not do it. But, I have my doubts as to whether you are really looking at the correct module. I do not see how the number could not be on the module. That sticker is permanent. The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module is located behind the left rear quarter panel trim, and is visible by removing the cover for the jack handle compartment on the left side, and use a flashlight to look behind the panel in the direction of the frontend. You will see the module and there will be a sticker on it with a five digit number. That is your door code.it should be behind the door panel on the drivers side on the module itself.... but you might be able to reset the thing yourself without the factory scan tool... this is what they do in the factory... and it works for me... still does on my 1996 LimitedThis works for many of the Explorer models. In the newer models, the "hidden" box may be somewhere else.A. Turn off all accessories.B. Turn on (not the engine) accessories with key in ignition 8 times. On the 8th time leave accessories on using the key.C. On keyless entry control, hit "lock", then hit "unlock".D. Turn off accessories with the keyE. Turn on engine with the keyF. Try the keyless entry control to see if it's been reset.F. If it's not been reset, disconnect main engine battery. Take out the two plugs (gray with lots of wires) in a box hidden over the left back wheel well inside the back of the explorer. Put them back in. Reconnect the engine battery. Go back to step A.
