I use 5W40 instead of 5W20 because I use my car in heavy duty conditions. I will never use the lighter oils just because it is not worth loosing the engine at 100,000 miles. Emission control test prove it.
I have only praise for this oil. I used 5W40 and moved up to 5W50 as the engine reached 50,000 miles.
That engine is out of warranty and the only benefit is it will outlast the rest of the car.
Good luck. Not an easy decision to make as there are experts out there who know everything and nothing.
