Try WD-40 and, if it will not loosen the adhesive, use a sharp chisel to GENTLY scrape it off.
WD-40 works well removing the sticky residue.

I find that WD-40 actually works pretty well. And there are commercial products that are specifically designed to be "sprayed on" and will dissolve adhesive. Be sure to use a good grease cutter (409, Simple Green, Big Orange, etc.) to remove any residual adhesive remover, whatever one you choose.
Goo Gone is a commercial product that works, but just about any oil will work. You can use WD-40 or vegetable oil, rub it in well and rub the adhesive away.
Soak the skin in water and remove the tape while skin is submerged.
I use wd-40 to remove the tar, then 409 to remove remaining wd-40. It's flammable.

One way to get surgical tape off the skin rubbing alcohol can be used to remove the sticky residue. The use of an exfoliator can also remove surgical tape residue from the skin.
Spray a little WD-40 on a paper towel and rub the glue. It will desolve in seconds. Wash the pan with soap and water after, of course.
