Absolutely! I have a sucky, cheap bed (couldn't afford luxury) so the springs were always popping and hurting me all night long. And since I have 5 blown disks I have a very hard time sleeping peacefully. But I finally bought a a pillow top style topper(prices vary significantly depending on what you can afford) I've been able to sleep a bit more peacefully without the constant tossing and turning.

You can get the no-skid mats to put under a throw rug (2' X3', $3 at Big Lots) and put it under the top of your mattress topper. I put it under my husband's side of the bed, since he scoots on and off - and moves the topper more.
