My marine tanks have always been reef tanks which depend heavily on protein skimmers as their main form of filtration. The one time I used this product I was topping off a 250 gallon reef tank. I ordinarily don't use straight tap water for reef tanks, but my reverse osmosis unit had issues. After adding 10ml to 10 gallons and using it to top off the sump, the protein skimmer turned into a foam volcano. This effectively disabled my skimmer for 3 whole days! I didn't notice any toxic effects on my corals and other invertebrates and certainly not the fish, but there was definitely a noticeable difference from not having a functioning skimmer. Remember, this was 10ml in a 250 gallon aquarium with a 75 gallon refugium / sump!
For a fish only marine tank with no skimmer, I'd say AquaSafe would be safe to use, but where a skimmer is used, stick with AmQuel, which detoxifies chlorine, ammonia, chloramines, etc. without adding anything which would cause frothing.
