NO!!!! you should use salt sea spray from a local piercing shop and drench the hole with it

If by salt rinse you mean saline solution, then yes. You can use saline solution on any open wound to clean it.

If you were to clean your piercing with salt by itself, it would certainly hurt! What people actually clean their piercing with is saline solution- a mix of sea salt and water. (A good ratio to use is 1 table spoon of salt per cup of water.) The saline solution itself should not hurt your piercing. However, sometime cleaning a piercing will irritate it. This may hurt, but the salt is not responsible.
How do you care for a cartlidge piercing?
When you get it pierced, they should give you a solution to clean it with and directions.. If they dont (which is odd) you can buy an ear cleaning solution at pharmacy (CVS, Target, Walmart) or get non-iodized salt, cotton balls, and cotton swabs (for ears) 1.Wash your hands thoroughly 2.Mix about a tablespoon of salt in with an 8 oz cup of warm water 3. Dip the cotton ball into the solution and hold in on the front and back of the piercing for approx. 5 minutes/side. 4. Make sure to twist your piercing a full rotation once when you clean it so it dosent heal in one spot. 5. Dip cotton swab in solution and clean around the edge of the piercing on both sides. Do this 3 times a day and after you excercise, and you should be good!
