How can a fish be a"cold water tropical fish"? "Tropical fish" means the fish come from tropical waters and do not do well (In some cases die) if kept in water that is too cold for them. Goldfish are Coldwater fish and need their water around 50F to 65F. So no, they will not do well in water that is constantly between 70F and 80F where most Tropical fish need their water to be.

The best food for Goldfish is "Earthworms" They should be incuded in the diet at least weekly if possible.

It's not a good idea to do long term as goldfish are more plant based in their flake and tropical are more meaty foods, but will not cause problems short term.

∙ 11y agoYou should try to feed your fish the food that is specifically designed for them as it will contain a different level of ingredients, many different ingredients, different levels of fats, proteins and fibre, and will be better for their health & digestion.

∙ 16y agoI FEED MY CHICLIDS POND PELLETS, THEY LOOK THE SAME, MY FISH LIKE THEM AND NUTRITION INFO WAS THE SAME, IT WAS JUST ALOT CHEAPER.

∙ 14y agoNot successfully over a long term. Goldfish are coldwater fish and should be kept below 70F. Most tropicals should be kept above 70F over the long term and some need to be kept nearer to 80F.
