No it can not. The ears develop around week 13 but the fetus reacting to hearing is much later, around week 19-24 depending on how loud.
No you need the hospital machines for that.
Yes, the baby can hear you at this point! Not only can the baby hear you but can also hear Daddy, dogs, tv, radio etc. My doc said at 20 weeks it is a good time to start reading to the baby
The doctor should be able to hear the babies heart beat with a Doppler after about 16 weeks. If you are more than 16 to 20 weeks pregnant and the doctor can not hear a heart beat then you need an ultrasound to make sure the baby is ok.
When the baby is in the womb at 20 weeks along, they don't hear the high pitch as well as a deeper voice. babygaga.com claims the baby can hear by 23 weeks and will respond to loud noises. Some women have claimed that they think baby can hear before 23 weeks.
It really depends on you. If you are a more slender woman that yes, chances are you will be able to hear the baby's heart beat. I heard my second child's heartbeat at 8 weeks, and with my first at 6 weeks, both were my initial appointments with my doctor. But if you dont hear it until 16 weeks, dont worry, it is not uncommon. It does not mean the baby is not doing well.

Your baby can start to hear at 18 weeks pregnant. Your baby may be startled by some of the noises such as your stomach rumbling blood pumping through your umbilical cord and the sound of your heart beat. So at 18 weeks the baby can hear you talk and your insides. :) For more quicker info that you need try Google :):)
