A cap and rotor diagram would show the structure of the rotor and distributor cap for a vehicle. These diagrams vary greatly depending on the type of vehicle. You can find these diagrams in Chilton's car repair manuals.?æ
I can't answer about the diagram, but you won't find a cap and rotor...they don't have one. Electronic ignition. Follow a plug wire back. Where you'd expect to find the distributor, you'll find the electronic ignition instead. 93 Chev Lumina APV does have a cap and rotor and also have ignition coils it all depends which factory it was built at. As for Diagrams i find HaynesRepair manual is pretty good.
It's the distributor rotor that you are looking for & it's under the distributor cap. Remove the distributor cap and there you will find the rotor.
Cap and rotor, yes. Points, no.
I have never heard of this - I don't think that there should ever be oil inside the cap and rotor of any car. If you have oil in the cap or rotor you probably have yourself a messed up situation requiring it necessary to replace both the cap and the rotor.
A '99 Intrepid doesn't use a distributor, so no cap and rotor.
Failed coil wire, failed rotor, failed capFailed coil wire, failed rotor, failed cap
There is two screews that hold the cap on ,remove them. Then just pull the rotor up and off. It will only go on 1 way. Transfur wires to new cap while keeping them in order.
I dont think there is a coil pack. Doesnt it still use a cap and rotor?
Loosen the screws on the cap and there is a single screw holding the rotor to the shaft
The 3.8 liter V6 engine has a distributor cap and rotor in a 1997 Ford Thunderbird
Defective new cap/rotor?
unbolt the distributer cap and lift up. The rotor is under the cap on a pivot. It should just pull off. Keep track of the position of the rotor and distributor cap though. Just in case.
