a misfire could be from spark wires that cant carry the the spark from the coil to the plug. which could be arking or just worn out wires that wont ohm properly. it could be the coil. could be firing but very faintly and when on hard exceleration it wont fire hard enough to create the combustion. it could be from a fowled injector. you have to check the injector pulse width with a scanner tool at your local shop. it could be from the fuel pressure not being up to par which you see when you check your pulse width. a pulse width is recommended low 3milaseconds. if your on the low fours and up then you got something restricting your fuel flow. sometimes it could be a bad wire to the injector. it could be from the fuel regulator which you could check simply by identifying the regulator and pull the vacumm hose from while it running and see if it changes its the sound of the motor like higher or lower rpm. when you shut the vehicle down pull the vacuum hose back of and see if you see wettness or a smell of fuel. which tells the tale of a bad regulator.
