The US entered WWI for many reasons:
1. Woodrow Wilson believed that if Germany was not defeated then democracy would not spread to the rest of the world.
2. German naval policies were antagonistic towards the US and gave America a great reason to fight.
3. The Allies had taken over all mail in and out of Germany, so all the Propaganda that the US got was from the Allies. This lead to a one-sided view of the conflict.
4. America had loaned nearly 2 billion dollars to the Allies, and if the Allies fell then so did the US economy.
The main causes of the United States entering World War I were unrestricted submarine warfare by Germany, the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915, the Zimmermann Telegram, and the desire to protect American economic interests. Additionally, there was growing public sentiment in favor of joining the war to ensure a peaceful and democratic world order.

The sinking of the Lusitania a British luxury liner with American weapons and Americans bound for Britain by the Germans was the excuse the US administration used to enter WW1
