What would the cell wall be in a city?

The Cell Wall would be the wall surrounding the city (no equivalent in modern cities). In comparison, the membrane would be the city border patrol. Nobody is going to get past the cell wall, but once they do whether or not they enter the cell (city) is determined by the membrane and its proteins (border patrol)

How can a cell be compared to a city?

I personally don't think that the comparison is that close, however, if we want to we could say that the cell nucleus functions as City Hall, the endoplasmic reticulum serves a similar function to city streets, mitochondria are a kind of power plant, cell membranes are comparable to a city wall (although in the 21st century, very few cities still have walls) and all the organelles of the cell work together in much the same way that the happy and responsible citizens of a community work together for their common good.

Why do some plants explode?

because plant cells get less salt and more water because of rain so the more water in a cell makes it bigger so it eventually explodesPlant cells have cell wall as outer covering besides the cell membrane. this cell wall is more rigid to expand in comparison to cell membrane. The animal cells due to absence of cell wall get easly streched hence they do not explod and the plant cell explode due to the rigid cell wall.
