1988Camry SV21 How do you remove speedo - pointer sticking on glass?

If they have been bent by the heat, which im assumaning they have cause all SV21's did that. Pull off all the cover, take the needles off and use a blow torch to melt them back, that's what i did

What reason would a 1988 Camry cut off while driving and not crank back up?

There could be many reasons including fuel filter igition components ect. If you go deeper than fuel filter then it would probably be cheaper to invest in a 1/2 hour of diagnostics from a trusted local garage. Dealer prices are usually out of reach. Good luck We have a 1987 Toyota SV21 Ultima that had a similar problem. We could drive for about 20 minutes normally and then the car would cut out and not restart. If we left it for half an hour or so it would start and drive normally to get us home. The fault was in the igniter box. Over the years the wires inside had fractured but remained in contact when cold. As it heated up during use expansion caused the broken ends to separate, breaking the ignition circuit. Soldering the wires together fixed the problem and it still runs very well after many years service. Hope this helps.

You own a 1991 Toyota Camry sv21 3sf-e and would like some more power without doing major mods any help will be great you already have a sports exhaust kn panal filter and a set of 8.8mm ignitionlead?

i hear you can get some extractors for the sv21? maybe some iridium spark plugs, also the easiest and cheapest way to make it go faster would be to reduce the weight of the caar... Set of Genie Extractors with a hi flow cat and straight thru muffler. Also a Percusion Power Parts insulated intake manifold gasket. Then get the handling sorted. Bigger Celica GT4 brakes, lower springs and gas shocks, camber bolts, strut brace and bigger rear sway bar. With the wheels get some Celica alloys. You can also undersize the rolling diameter of the wheel with lower profile tyres to improve acceleration.
