You probably need the original key fob for the car. This is regardless if you have an alarm for the car. I've changed the battery twice in the last five years for my 97 Villager and each time I've had to "reset" the "alarm" via the key fob. The last time, I had to uncable the battery twice because it would not "reset" using the key fob before finally accepting the "unlock/disarm" from the key fob.
On the starter.
Disconnect the - battery cable Raise and support the vehicle Remove wiring at the top of the starter Remove starer mounting bolts Remove starter
If you mean the starter solenoid, it's on the starter.
start inhibitor relay located next to battery in fuse/relay compartment
Probably about $150 and up.
find the battery cable on the starter and follow it up to the relay. It is located in the rectangular relay box in the right side front engine compartment. It is named "Inhibit" .Attached to the starter.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal 2. Remove the air intake duct and the air cleaner box from the engine compartment 3. Disconnect the battery cable and the solenoid terminal from the starter solenoid 4. Remove the starter mounting bolts
Don't ever !!!!!
The starter is mounted at the top of the transaxle at the back of the engine. You can see it clearly if you remove the air filter box.
The Nissan Quest starter is the same.
A clicking sound when you try to start the car is a dead battery. It may be that the alternator is not charging it properly.
AnswerDisconnect the battery cable and remove the battery. Remove the air filter box. Position the mass air flow meter and hoses out of the way. Now, you should be able to look straight at the starter and it's just a matter of nuts and bolts from here.
