The V-8s don't have plug wires, as traditionally defined. Each cylinder has its own coil attached to the engine wiring harness. They are located under the valve cover top panels.
You might have switched the plug wires. Meaning that you put a plug wire in the wrong spark plug which messes with the firing order.
