pop the hood. on the drivers side firewall there is a white container with a black cap. that is your master cylinder reservoir. there is a full mark on the side of it. fill with appropriate fluid. the cap should tell you what kind to use.
In a Chevy Cavalier, you put the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir located atop the master cylinder. You can find this under the hood, on the drivers side, near the back firewall on top.

Most of the time it is because of a bad slave cylinder that does not hold pressre or is leaking. They use brake fluid and to check them look at the CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER near the firewall.
