What type of car? On GM cars which have the 6 cylinder engine, at about 60,000 miles the intake manifold gaskets will start leaking and the dripping will be at the center of the car. The OEM gaskets are thick and will begin to leak. I had to have the gaskets replaced on my 1999 Oldsmobile Minivan and another was in for the same repair. Then when I was having my oil changed a LeSabre was in the shop for the same thing. I have talked with several mechanics and they say this is a common occurrence. It would appear that GM would have issued a recall before they became Government Motors.
If you checked the hoses etc. and it's dripping in the middle of the car then it may be the gasket behind the oil filter adapter because a water hose is connected there.
My car is is running hot and smoking... i discovered the coolant was low i added new coolant and its pouring out the bottom of my car My car is is running hot and smoking... i discovered the coolant was low i added new coolant and its pouring out the bottom of my car
water pump may need to be replaced
Yes. My car just bogged out on me and turned off tried to turn it on and wouldn't start, lifted the hood and coolant was dripping ad a big puddle under my car. It may be cracked radiator or hoses.
"Change the waterpump when it starts dripping coolant out the weep hole or makes noise". - Scotty Kilmer
Check to see if you really have a leak or just loss of fluid due to evaporation. Place some cardboard under your car overnight and see if you have any wetness or signs of dripping, after, of course, you have first refilled your coolant system.
The most likely problem is the crank or cam sensor. Dripping coolant could be in the connectors, or possibly one was hit and damaged during installation.
From the water pump
on any car it is usually the thermostat. or low coolant level. if level is check radiator cap it may be loose or defective. but if it is dripping coolant from under engine it is your water pump. check under your car after about 10 minutes or so after you have parked if their is coolant or if you smell coolant under the hood after you park it most likely a water pump. Do not try to drive while it is over heated it will cost you a lot of money in damage.
Possibly ruptured heater core. if you are losing coolant-check it out.
The bigger your car, the more coolant you need to put in. The bigger your engine and car, the more coolant you need
