It is a DIY job if no gas in systme.
when you buy the new compressor it will be set up for the 134. Check to be sure, if not all you have to do is change the fittings to the hi and lo port. I HIGHLY recommend changing the filter-dryer and expansion valve as well as flushing the system.
If you had a compressor grenade you will probably never get all the trash out of the system.
Never flushing & replacing your anti-freeze/coolant...
The system is very dirty from the first compressor that went out....... If you just replaced the a/c compressor without changing the expansion tube, the accumulator and flushing out the complete system then it will never work correctly......
could be a bad thermostat try replacing it answer try flushing out your heater core also
http://www.terrylove.com/crtoilet.htm This link may help. And yes I do. I will be replacing it. Before replacing it, try a little online research... take a look in the tank, if you see that you have a Fluidmaster flushing system, then go to www.fluidmaster.com. They have some helpful troubleshooting tips.
I recommend flushing the system and replacing Dex-cool every 5 years or 100K miles.
Because the motor is running to hot try flushing your radiator and putting new coolant in.
Hard water, and calcium can build up insite the hoses and get released in chungs during the flush process. These pieces can get caught in the thermostat and cause it to fail. You can try removing the thermostat or just replace it as it is an in-expensive part. You might consider re-flushing the radiator as more calcium might hit the thermostat after replacing it.
