Yes, if it has a mechanical speedometer. It can also be a relay that is clicking.
The problem is inside the speedo and has to go to a speedo shop to be repaired.
You have to remove the fuse for the speedo. You can not have both speedo and odometer at the same time. Also your computer will store the actuall mileage so someone could scan the computer and know how many miles are on it. The only thing you gain is speeding tickets, I have done this already!
You don't. There is no such thing as an odometer or a speedometer cable on that vehicle. The speedometer is electrically operated using a signal from the vehicle speed sensor. The odometer is driven by a little electric motor in the speedometer head assembly. If the speedo is working, but the odo isn't, you need a speedometer head assembly. If both are inop, you COULD need a speedo head, but there could also be a problem elsewhere in the system.
if it is all the gauges it's probably a fuse, or just some, like speedo and odometer it could be a bad wire
could be crankshaft sencor or bad contact on connection behind spedo
Sorry, you can't do anything other than replace the speedometer itself. The speedo is driven by a magnet system which also gear drives the odometer which is tamper proof. Check with a dealer in your area and depending on state law, you may be able to get a used speedo unit from a recycling yard and the dealer will place a sticker on the car verifying actual mileage. ^^ That is incorrect, it is not tamperproof. The way to fix this is to replace the odometer gear itself. The gear costs $28. You need to remove the speedo from the instrument cluster and tear the back of the odometer apart to replace the broken gear. The following weblink explains it in better detail than I could. I did mine in about an hour, but your mileage may vary. http://www.backesfamily.com/TCProjects/Odometer%20Repair/odometer.html
if the cluster still lights up but the speedo still inop possible cause is the speed sensor in the transmition
i dont know if the fiesta mk6 speedo is electric or mechanical, but if were mechanical, it would either be a bad speedo cable, a bad speedo, or a bad gearbox. if it were electrical, i would think that again it could be the speedo, or it could be the wiring, the sensor, or a computer if there is one
Check the CV Boot
These are usually sealed units and for the most part are not repairable. You might get another one from a junk yard ... or try searching the internet. The other possibility is that the physical cable that drives a mechanical speedo could be broken. Some of these are driven off the transmission, others are driven off one of the front wheels.
not enuff information is the clicking when you are moving or using a control in vehicle. it could come from the other side such as the speedo cable being worn out. it could be the window washer pump which is usually on that side but sound travels and is hard top pinpoint
The odometer has failed
