You may have junked your starter trying to start your motor which could be bound on something. Like a bad bearing or something jammed between the fly wheel.
Turn the key on, follow the red cable from the starter to the junction box make sure you have a rubber handle screwdriver and make contact with both nuts should turn over.
Remove the battery cable on the side of the starter. Then remove the two bolts holding it onto the engine. Once you have your new one just reverse those steps.
you have a dirty battery post
The tractor may not start because there may be a problem with the battery. You also need to make sure you have enough gas.
See if you're getting power to the small wire at the starter in the start position. If not you have an issue in the safety switch circuit. it comes from the key generally. How are the battery cables?
1. Locate the tractor battery cables. 2. Follow each cable to where it connects to the tractor. One cable will be connected/attached to the tractor chassis/frame. The other cable will be connected/attached to the tractor starter motor. If you don't find this to be true, then discontinue this procedure now. 3. Connect the unconnected end of the cable that is connected to the starter motor to the "+" or "pos" battery post. 4. Connect the unconnected end of the other cable that is connected to the tractor chassis/frame to the "-" or "neg" battery post. 5. Snugly tighten the post connector nuts to ensure a firm/stable electrical connection. Done. Your battery is now connected to your tractor properly.
Remove the battery cables. Remove the wires from the starter, but label them as to proper location, then remove the two bolts at the back of the starter, top, and bottom.
Yes but you have to hook it to the mounting bolts. You will get just as good of a ground if you hook it to the frame of the tractor. Hope this helps.
