Yes, with either a OEM Honda cruise control unit or aftermarket unit.
Can be either way. They don't have to, but are allowed to.
No. The Cruise Control is controlled by the engine ECM. If your cruise control isn't working, you probably either have a bad switch to actuate the cruise control, or a brake pedal switch which is in constant contact, and thus telling the computer it's engaged when it isn't.
I have the same model car and the cruise doesn't work on mine either
Cruise control is an automated system whereby the driver can select a specific speed and the car will automatically maintain that speed until the driver either disengages the cruise control or presses the brake pedal. It is the most useful for long distance highway driving where there is not too much traffic. Common misconceptions: Cruise control does not steer the car, or keep the car on the road. Cruise control does not prevent accidents.
It is important to know the meaning of flashing lights in a car. When the cruise control set light flashes, it either means the driver hasn't finish setting the control, or that there is an issue with the fuse or wiring.
Depending on the age and model of the vehicle you have, the fuse which is associated with Cruise Control will either specifically say 'Cruise Control.' Other associations, such as with Ford, Chevrolet, and General Motors, the fuse box may say: "Ancillary" "Accessories" "Drive" finally, if the Cruise Control has been added after leaving the assembly plant, the Cruise Control power source may be connected to "Clock" "Display" and even "Radio." European makes may require direct reference to the vehicle manual for specific numerals.
Reconnect everything EXACTLY as it was prior to the manifold replacement.....look for either a disconnected vacuum line or electrical connector to the cruise control servo - check the fuse that supplies power to the cruise control - check for 12v power to the servo (got a test light or a multi-meter ?) hope that helps.....
1) turn on cruise control (a light should turn on somewhere) 2) increase or decrease speed to desired mph 3) press button or apparatus to set or reset cruise 4) take foot off gas peddel and the car should maintain steady speed. I've had 2 VW's and the cruise didn't work in either one....perhaps your cruise just doesn't work.
Cruise control is controlled by the PCM on all Cobalts regardless of automatic or manual, which communicates with the BCM which controls automatic transmissions. if there is a problem, it is either the button, the wiring, or the PCM itself, or the BCM controlling the transmission
this happened to me and I discovered online that the cruise control fuse is the same as the horn and the emergency flashers....so if those don't work either, it's the fuse! You should also check the cruise control cable. I had the problem of it slipping off when ever I stomped on the gas pedal. Also check to see if the cable is broken. I've also had that happen.
(Not from personal experience) but someone mentioned to me that cruise control may not work if the collision avoidance light does not work Doesn't make sense to me, but stranger things have happened, you may want to check and let us know
